This step-by-step DIY guide will walk your sound team through configuring the Behringer X32 soundboard so that Scene 1 automatically loads every time the board powers on.
Step 1: Save & Lock Scene 1
Before establishing Scene 1 as your default startup configuration, ensure that your current baseline mix is properly saved to that slot.
Press the Scenes button located directly to the right of the main display screen.
Use the first knob under the display to scroll and highlight Scene 01.
Press the Save soft button located under the display screen.
Confirm or enter the scene title (e.g., "Main Sunday / Scene 1") and press Save/OK to confirm and overwrite the file.
Step 2: Access System Startup Preferences
Press the Setup button (located near the top right of the main display).
Use the Page Select (Right Arrow) button to navigate across to the Global tab on screen.
Step 3: Configure Startup Scene Behavior
Observe the bottom menu section on the screen for the Initialization / Startup controls.
Locate the setting parameter labeled Safes / Startup / Default Scene (or Console Initialization depending on your active firmware version).
Turn the corresponding rotary encoder knob to select Scene 01.
Push the rotary knob downward to Confirm/Select Scene 01 as the designated startup default.
Ensure that the "Load Scene on Safe Boot" or "Initialize with Scene" toggle option is switched ON.
Step 4: Verify & Test
Press the Home button to return to the main operational screen.
Make a minor, non-critical test adjustment on the board (such as moving an unused fader upward).
Power down the X32 using the rear power switch.
Wait 10 seconds, then power the board back on.
Once the startup initialization finishes, verify that Scene 01 has reloaded and your test adjustment has reset to its saved position.
